Transformers Review: Brawl (CW Deluxe) – Part 5 of 6 – Bruticus

Intro:

Welcome back folks, to another edition of Transformers Reviews. Today, New Planet Cybertron Weblog returns with the review of the Combiner Wars Combaticons member – Brawl.
Brawl is probably the character with the least intelligence within the group, but he makes it up with pure strength, fueled by pure rage.
Imagine a metallic Hulk, but not as strong.
Don’t make Brawl angry, you won’t like him when he’s angry.
Alright, enough with the Hulk jokes, and let us get on with the review.

Alternate Mode:
Brawl is the original mold used here.
The brown color scheme used suits the character quite well.
Brawl also comes with 2 other accessories: the hand/foot piece and a gun. Unlike the other Combaticons, the gun isn’t exactly an accessory, but rather a part of its turret.
My biggest problem with this mode is that the turret can’t turn, which is quite a shame. I think they should thought of a way to make that turret turn-able.

Otherwise, I think Brawl’s alternate mode looks quite good.

Robot Mode:
Transformation from vehicle mode to robot mode is very simple, and within 14 steps, you will finally get to the robot mode.
Again the color scheme fits the character quite well, exactly like the original depictions.

The points of articulation are as follows:
a)      The head rotates 360°
b)      The shoulders are combinational joints that allow all range of movements
c)      The elbows and hips are on ball joints
d)     The waist can lean forward and backward just a bit.
e)      Waist joint
f)       The legs rotate below the hips
g)      The knees bend
h)      Ankles tilt inwards.

The points of articulations are fairly good, and are quite tight. The accessories can be wielded nicely by Brawl. The turret gun can be used quite nicely .
Overall, I think this mode is rather good.

Overall:
Brawl is a good figure, but it ain’t perfect. The waist joint is somehow a little bit funny.
But overall, Brawl is still a good figure.
            Highly recommended.

            Final verdict: 8.0/10.
