Transformers Review – Starscream (DOTM Deluxe)

Intro:
Since I already have a really great looking Voyager-class in the form of ROTF Starscream, and even more so since he has been reduced to a Deluxe-class figure, I really had no reason in going out to buy this figure.
Then came am offer at Teencom, so I thought to myself, what the heck, I might as well gave him the same benefit of doubt that I gave to its ROTF predecessor, and so here we are with this review…

Alternate Mode:
The alternate mode really looked like a smaller version of the ROTF figure although a closer inspection will tell you that it’s not.
The jet is predominantly bright grey with black tattoos all over the aircraft. The kibbles are very minimal, and compared to the 2007 Movie and ROTF Voyager-class figures, this is the best.
Starscream comes with a pair of Mech-Tech weapons that are mounted on each wing.

So far, the figure has been quite promising.

Robot Mode:
I have to say, I am quite impressed with this one, and for a movie Starscream, that is saying a lot!!! Unlike his previous two Voyager-class predecessor, this Starscream looks to have perfect proportions!!! Something neither of his predecessors has.
The transformation is a lot less complex too.
Articulation-wise: the head rotates 360°; the shoulders, elbows and hips are all on ball-joints; the elbows also have another bendable joint, which along with the previously mentioned ball-joints will give the double-jointing effects; and finally the chicken legs means that Starscream has two knee joints.

I also love the fact that Starscream’s heel is made from his landing gears – creatively done.
Of course, last but not least, who can forget the couple of Mech-Tech weapons that can merge to form a double edge, arm-mounted blade. The blade looks so darn awesome that you might decide to get this figure based on that alone!!!

Overall:
This version of Starscream is probably my favorite, compared to the 2007 Movie Voyager-class Starscream and his ROTF counterpart. Definitely a go-getter from Starscream fans.
            Highly recommended.

            Final verdict: 9/10.
